Hotels in Lexington

Lexington calls itself the Horse Capital of the World and, unusually for a marketing slogan, it holds up: the Kentucky city is ringed by white-fenced thoroughbred farms, several of which you can tour, and sits on the Bourbon Trail with distilleries like Woodford Reserve close by.

Keeneland, its beautiful limestone racetrack west of town, hosts the Breeders' Cup in 2026 — two days of world-championship racing that will fill every hotel in the region. Downtown Lexington has a compact, likeable core of bars and restaurants and most of the hotel stock; stay there and drive or shuttle the 15 minutes to Keeneland, and for Breeders' Cup week book months out or expect Louisville-distance commutes.
