Hotels in North Hollywood

North Hollywood isn't Hollywood at all but a working neighbourhood of Los Angeles over the hills in the San Fernando Valley, home to roughly 78,000 people and better known locally as NoHo. Its heart is the NoHo Arts District, a compact cluster of small live theatres, galleries, dance studios and cafés that gives the area more creative character than most of the Valley. The real draw for visitors is practical: North Hollywood station is the end of the Metro B Line, which runs straight to Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame, then on to downtown and Union Station without the traffic.

Universal Studios is a short hop away, and Hollywood Burbank Airport is close by. Be honest: beyond the arts district it is flat, sprawling and car-oriented, summers run noticeably hotter than the coast, and the Hollywood Sign and La Brea Tar Pits still mean a trip over the hill. Stay near the arts district around the Metro station, where you can walk to dinner and ride the train into Hollywood without needing a car.
