Hotels near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

LAX sits well outside central Los Angeles, in a stretch of Century Boulevard and surrounding streets given over almost entirely to airport hotels, car parks and rental lots. There's little reason to linger here beyond a flight connection — this is a functional base for early departures or late arrivals, not a place to build a stay around.

Given that density, the usual "closer versus cheaper" trade-off is fairly narrow here — you're rarely choosing between five minutes and forty-five, more between a very short transfer and a slightly longer one, so it's worth weighing shuttle frequency and traffic on Century Boulevard rather than raw distance alone. If your schedule allows any buffer at all, staying in Los Angeles proper is worth considering instead: you trade a bit of transfer time for actual neighbourhoods, restaurants and things to do, which the airport strip simply doesn't offer. Use the immediate LAX cluster when your flight times are tight or antisocial; use the city when you have an evening or morning to spare and don't want to spend it staring at a runway.
