Hotels in Widcombe, Bath

Widcombe sits across Pulteney Bridge from the main tourist drag — a short but character-shifting walk from the Abbey, into a neighbourhood of independent pubs, a Saturday farmers' market, the Widcombe Social Club and the kind of community hardware shop that has run unchanged for thirty years. The hillside above gives sweeping views over the city; the canal and river basin are below. Less known than Bathwick and considerably cheaper than the centre. For travellers who want Bath's spa-town architecture but village-scale quiet, Widcombe is the less obvious and often better choice — particularly in summer when the centre becomes genuinely difficult to move through.
