Hotels in Sepang

Sepang is less a destination than a district south of Kuala Lumpur best known for two pieces of infrastructure: KLIA, Malaysia's main airport, and the Sepang International Circuit next door, which hosts the Malaysian MotoGP round in the season's closing stretch. There is no town worth basing in at the circuit itself.

The choice is between airport hotels — minutes from the gates, ideal for race days, deathly quiet otherwise — and Kuala Lumpur proper, about an hour away, with all the food, malls and life of the capital. Many fans split the difference: KL for the stay, taxi or train down on race days. Heat and afternoon downpours are all but guaranteed.
