Hotels near National Botanic Gardens

Curved panes of glass catch the light over Glasnevin, where the iron and glass Curvilinear Range sweeps along a lawn and the tall Palm House rises behind beds of seasonal colour. The National Botanic Gardens were founded by the Dublin Society and are now run by the Office of Public Works, with a living collection of trees, shrubs and glasshouse plants laid out across lawns, borders and an arboretum. The River Tolka runs along one edge of the grounds, and Glasnevin Cemetery lies beside the gardens on another. Inside the glasshouses, palms, ferns, orchids and succulents grow under the restored Victorian ironwork, while outdoors there are rose beds, a rock garden and walks beneath mature specimen trees. Bring a layer for the open lawns and something light for the warm, humid glasshouses. Dublin Airport (DUB) serves the city. Stay in Dublin to spend unhurried time among the glasshouses and gardens.
