Hotels near the Paisley Museum

Pale sandstone columns front Paisley Museum on the town's High Street, a classical facade that gives the street a note of civic ceremony. The building was funded by the thread manufacturer Sir Peter Coats and designed by the architect John Honeyman, and it now holds Category A listed status. The collections turn on the town's own story: the woven shawls that gave the Paisley pattern its name sit alongside painting, decorative art, natural history and local social history. Close by stands the Coats Observatory, another gift of the Coats family. Glasgow Airport serves the area. Stay in Renfrewshire.
