Hotels in Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco

Haight-Ashbury is the birthplace of the Summer of Love — the junction of Haight and Ashbury Streets remains a counter-culture pilgrimage, surrounded by Victorian Painted Ladies, vintage record shops and head shops still trading alongside organic grocers and independent bookstores. Golden Gate Park, one of the world's great urban parks, begins just two blocks west. Muni bus and historic streetcar lines connect to downtown. It suits independently minded travellers who want a distinctive, non-tourist-facing San Francisco base: authentic neighbourhood character, excellent independent food and drink, and one of the country's great parks on the doorstep.
