Annemasse exists in Geneva's shadow, literally: it sits right on the Swiss border and functions largely as an affordable base for people working in or visiting Geneva without paying Swiss prices. There's little in the way of standalone tourist draws here — this is a working French town with a Saturday market, some light industry, and cross-border commuters filling the trains and trams into the city.
Be honest: you're not coming to Annemasse for Annemasse, you're coming because Geneva International Airport is close by and Swiss hotel rates are punishing. What it does offer is straightforward value and easy tram access into central Geneva, which is really the whole point of staying here. Book close to the tram line or train station so the border crossing into Geneva is quick and you're not relying on taxis at odd hours.
