Hotels in Salisbury

Salisbury is a compact cathedral city built almost entirely around one building: its thirteenth-century cathedral, which holds the tallest spire in Britain and one of the four surviving original copies of the Magna Carta. The medieval street grid, laid out by the same planners, still works as a place to walk, and the water meadows behind the cathedral give the classic view Constable painted.

The city itself is small and can be seen thoroughly in a day, with an evening's worth of decent pubs and restaurants rather than a great nightlife scene. Stay close to the Cathedral Close if you want to walk to the sights and avoid a car, since parking in the centre is limited and the historic core is largely pedestrianised.
