Hotels in Charlottenburg, Berlin

Charlottenburg is the elegant west, the old heart of pre-war Berlin and still its most genteel address. The Kurfürstendamm boulevard runs kilometres of department stores and the KaDeWe food halls, while the baroque Charlottenburg Palace and its gardens crown the north. Savignyplatz shelters bookshops and dependable restaurants under the S-Bahn arches, and the Zoo and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church anchor the east. It suits older travellers, shoppers and families wanting quiet, spacious, classic hotels away from the party districts. Superbly connected by U-Bahn and S-Bahn, safe and calm at night, though pricier and less edgy than the east.
