Hotels in Newnham, Cambridge

Newnham is Cambridge's quietest and most residential neighbourhood — an Edwardian garden suburb west of the river, built for university staff and still quietly leafy and characterful. The backs of the major colleges are a short punt or walk away; Grantchester Meadows, Rupert Brooke's village and the river swimming pools are a 30-minute walk south through the countryside. For a calmer, greener Cambridge stay than the tourist-dense centre — particularly for families or longer stays who want a house or self-catering apartment rather than a hotel — Newnham is peaceful and very well positioned without feeling remote from the city.
