Hotels in Edmonton

Edmonton is Alberta's capital and a serious hockey city — the Oilers' Ice District has rebuilt its downtown core around Rogers Place, one of the NHL's best modern arenas, and the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship brings the tournament Canada treats as a national Christmas ritual to town over the holidays.

Beyond the rink there's the North Saskatchewan river valley, one of North America's largest stretches of urban parkland, a strong summer festival scene, and the sheer excess of West Edmonton Mall. Stay downtown in or near the Ice District so you can walk to games — essential when late-December temperatures can sit around minus 20 — and book early, since World Juniors week concentrates demand hard.
