Hotels near John's Lane Church

A tapering Gothic spire rises above Thomas Street here, its stonework climbing through tiers of pointed openings and carved figures until it pierces the skyline at the edge of the Liberties. John's Lane Church, dedicated to John the Baptist, was designed by E. W. Pugin in the Gothic Revival style, and from the pavement you can trace that style in the steep roofline, the tall traceried windows and the statues set into niches high on the tower. The façade meets the street directly, so the shopfronts and passing traffic of Thomas Street frame every view of it, and the spire works as a landmark when you are finding your way through this western stretch of the old city.
