Hotels in Westerpark, Amsterdam

Westerpark takes its name from the reclaimed gasworks now called the Westergas, a red-brick culture park of breweries, cinemas, galleries and Sunday markets in restored industrial halls. The surrounding Spaarndammerbuurt hides an architectural gem: the fairytale Amsterdam School housing of Het Schip, all curving brick and expressionist detail. It suits families and festival-goers wanting green space, events and a genuinely local feel just north-west of the Jordaan. Cycling and the park keep it calm and residential, with better value than the centre; trams and buses connect quickly, though it lies a little beyond the main canal sights.
