Hotels in La Latina, Madrid

La Latina is old Madrid at its most atmospheric — winding medieval streets, the Sunday sprawl of the El Rastro flea market, and the city's densest concentration of classic tapas bars around Cava Baja. The Sunday-vermouth-and-tapas crawl here is a Madrid institution. Central and full of character, it's a short walk to the Royal Palace and the Plaza Mayor. It suits food lovers and travellers who want traditional, lively Madrid over modern polish. Sundays are wonderfully busy; weekdays calmer. For eating and drinking your way through the real city, there's no better base.
