Victoria is London's great connector — a mainline rail terminus, the coach station and the Gatwick Express all meet here, making it the natural landing pad for arrivals. Around the transport there's more than transit: the long-running musicals of the Apollo Victoria and Victoria Palace, the revamped Cardinal Place, and a walk of a few minutes to Buckingham Palace and its Changing of the Guard. It suits travellers who prize being able to get anywhere fast and starting their sightseeing on foot. Busy and businesslike by day, it runs along Victoria Street to Westminster Abbey, with St James's Park to the north.
